Correct the Cause Behind Your Child’s Symptoms

Friends & Family Spinal Care is Parkland’s best pediatric chiropractor. Our NUCCA doctors correct the top of a child’s spine with fingertip pressure, then confirm the change on that child’s own images before the visit ends. Families have trusted us since 2008 and rate our care 4.8 stars across over 500 Google reviews.

Parents bring us children from Heron Bay and the acre lots of Pine Tree Estates after weeks of watching a newborn arch away at every feeding. Dr. Justin Brown built the only multi-doctor NUCCA team in South Florida, one of roughly 300 certified NUCCA practices worldwide, and every doctor here measures a child’s atlas in three dimensions before recommending anything.

Why Parkland Families Choose Friends & Family Spinal Care

Most Parkland families reach us after two stops: a pediatric office along University Drive and a general chiropractic clinic near the Sawgrass.

Our doctors measure the upper cervical spine before recommending anything. A child’s atlas sits where the brainstem becomes the spinal cord, and even a small shift can affect how the head balances on the neck.

Our correction uses pressure lighter than a parent’s thumb, with no twisting or popping.

What Parkland Parents Want How Friends & Family Spinal Care Delivers It All Other Providers
Proof the correction worked We image your child’s neck before and after the first correction, then hand you both pictures. Most offices gauge progress by asking whether your child seems happier.
No twisting or popping near a small neck We hold a light contact below the ear with the pressure you use to test a bruise, and nothing rotates. General chiropractic offices rotate the head to create the pop that makes parents flinch.
A doctor who has treated this exact age Our doctors review every pediatric case together, so a five-day-old and a fifteen-year-old lacrosse player each get read twice. Single-doctor clinics offer one opinion and no case review.
An answer beyond waiting it out We tell you at visit two whether we found a structural cause we can correct, and we say so plainly when we did not. Wait-and-see advice sends families home with the same crying baby.
Appointments that survive a Parkland sports calendar We open Saturdays and keep corrective visits short, so a Parkland Rangers practice at Pine Trails Park still starts on time. Weekday-only hours pull children out of school for every visit.

Helping Parkland Children With Gentle NUCCA Care

Your child’s atlas sits where the brainstem becomes the spinal cord, and that single vertebra governs how the head balances on the neck.

Delivery can shift it, especially after difficult births or assisted delivery. A child carrying that shift may turn the head easily one way and resist the other.

Our doctors locate the shift in degrees, apply contact below the ear with pressure lighter than a parent’s thumb, then re-measure to confirm the correction held.

We specialize in:

Pediatric Chiropractic Care for Every Stage of Childhood

Parkland keeps children busy from the first year forward, and different ages place different demands on the developing spine.

Type of Patient What We Address
Newborns Rotational restriction at the top of the neck that may affect feeding position.
Toddlers Upper cervical tension and alignment patterns monitored alongside recurring ear concerns.
Elementary Students Shoulder and postural imbalance associated with loaded backpacks and daily activity.
Youth Athletes Upper cervical alignment following neck contact and sports activity at Pine Trails Park.
Young Riders Upper cervical alignment following falls or impact during riding.

Why NUCCA Is Different for Pediatric Chiropractic Care

NUCCA is designed around precise measurement and gentle correction rather than forceful manipulation.

For pediatric patients, the contact at the upper cervical spine uses fingertip pressure and does not rotate or thrust the neck. Our doctors first measure the child’s structure and neurological function, then decide whether imaging or correction is appropriate.

Feature NUCCA Pediatric Care Traditional Chiropractic
Adjustment Style Gentle fingertip pressure below the ear. May involve manual rotation or higher-force adjustments.
Neck Rotation No twisting, cracking, or popping. Rotation may be used depending on technique.
Measurement Structural and neurological measurements guide care. Progress may be based primarily on symptoms and manual examination.
Case Review Multiple NUCCA doctors review pediatric cases together. Single-doctor practices typically provide one interpretation.

What to Expect at Your Child’s First Visit

Your child’s first visit includes a one-on-one doctor consultation and structural and neurological testing. Imaging is used only when the initial findings indicate a shift worth measuring.

Step What Happens Why It Matters
1. Parent & Child Consultation We review birth history, symptoms, posture, activity, and parent concerns. The history helps determine which structural findings matter most.
2. Structural & Neurological Exam Hands-on assessment and surface EMG scanning evaluate alignment and neurological patterns. This determines whether additional measurement is needed.
3. Digital Imaging When Needed 3D digital X-rays are taken only when findings point to a shift worth measuring. The doctor can calculate correction from the child’s actual anatomy.
4. Report of Findings Your doctor explains the measurements and provides a written recommendation. Parents understand what was found before beginning care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need X-rays?

Not always. We start with a hands-on structural exam and surface EMG scanning, then image only when those findings point to a shift worth measuring. Our 3D digital equipment uses a fraction of conventional radiation, and we shield everything outside the field. Your doctor explains the reason before taking any image.

How young can a baby start care?

Days old. We assess newborns during the first week when delivery went hard, and an infant correction amounts to sustained fingertip pressure held for a few seconds while she rests against a parent. Most babies sleep through the visit. Nothing rotates, and no thrust ever enters an infant’s neck.

Will this interfere with my child’s pediatrician?

No. We release our imaging and written measurements to any pediatrician you name, and we never advise families about prescriptions or vaccination schedules. Our findings add structural information to your pediatrician’s picture rather than competing with it.

What if my child will not sit still?

Our doctors work with the child in front of them. We correct toddlers on a parent’s lap and wait for a calm moment instead of forcing one. The contact itself takes seconds, and parents stay in the room for every appointment.

How soon will we notice a change?

Response tracks how long the shift has been present. Infants often feed and sleep differently within the first week, while a teenager who has compensated for years needs several months of stable alignment before headaches ease. We reassess at set intervals and show you the measurements each time.

How does payment work without insurance billing?

We accept HSA and FSA cards and write flexible payment plans for longer care schedules. Our team quotes your child’s full plan in writing at the report of findings, so you won’t receive an unexpected bill.

You Have Been Adjusted a Hundred Times. Why Has It Never Held?

FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED A HUNDRED TIMES AND STILL HURT

Relief that lasts four days is not a correction. It is a rental. There is a structural reason your body keeps pulling back to the place that hurts, and until someone measures it, nothing changes.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

Most people are aware of the pain-reducing advantages of this remarkable science. Here are other common benefits and specific conditions that we focus on at Friends & Family Spinal Care:

If You Are Reading This, You Have Probably Already Tried:

And somewhere in there, you started wondering if this is just your body now.

It is not.

The Reason Relief Keeps Expiring

Things that hold have structure.

Every treatment you have tried worked on the symptom. The muscle that was tight. The joint that was stuck. The nerve that was screaming. And each one worked, right up until your body pulled back to the position it was in before you walked in.

Because the position never changed.

You have been treated by good people who never measured your structure, because measuring it takes an instrument almost no one owns and training almost no one has. Not their fault. It just means the actual question never got asked.

You cannot correct what nobody has measured. Everything else is maintenance.

Your MRI Was Not Wrong. It Was Answering a Different Question.

An MRI is built to find disease. Tumors. Herniations. Ruptures. The things that need a surgeon.

When yours came back clean, it did its job perfectly. It told you that you do not have the thing it was designed to find.

But it was never built to measure how your head sits on top of your neck. By how many degrees. Or how that position interferes with the nerves running through it.

Different question. Different instruments. Different results.

What we measure

The One Thing Almost No One Measures

I am Dr. Justin Brown, founder of Atlinea.

Our doctors correct the alignment at the very top of your spine, and we do it with the specific precision required to return your body to the position it needs to be in to heal the way it was designed to.

That is the entire focus. Not a menu of services. One correction, measured and made properly.

Where This Actually Starts

It is called The Comprehensive. Sixty minutes, one on one with one of our doctors, and it runs in three parts.

01. We Listen

You talk. We listen. Your whole history, everything you have tried, what it has cost you, and what you have given up because of it. Not a five minute intake. An actual conversation about your specific problem.

02. We Learn

Then we measure what nobody has measured.

What is working. What is not. And why.

03. We Lead

You leave knowing the root cause, why this has never held, and exactly what correcting it would take. In plain language, with your own numbers in front of you.

Sixty minutes to finally get the answer that years of appointments never gave you.

This is what The Comprehensive actually looks like: a full structural exam, not a quick adjustment.

If We Cannot Correct It, We Will Tell You On Day One

Here is our promise.

If our doctors do not find a structural cause that we can correct, they will tell you on day one, and we will not take you on as a patient.

No treatment plan. No package. No follow up call three days later.

You leave with the truth and a direction. Not a sales pitch.

We would rather lose the patient than sell you another rental.

What It Costs To Find Out

Before You Book

Is this just a chiropractor?

Our doctors correct one specific thing: the alignment at the top of your spine. That is a narrower and more measured discipline than general adjusting, and it starts with instruments rather than hands. If you have been adjusted before and it did not hold, this is the reason we start with a measurement instead of a table.

Because sixty minutes of a doctor’s time is real, and a free appointment is an appointment people do not show up for. The $45 reserves the slot. If you come in and decide not to move forward, you get it back.

Then we tell you on day one and we do not take you on as a patient. You leave with what we measured and a direction to take it.

That depends entirely on what we find, and anyone who quotes you a timeline before measuring you is guessing. You will get a specific answer at the end of your Comprehensive, based on your own numbers.

Possibly. If your Comprehensive points to a structural cause, imaging is the next step, and your $45 is credited toward it.

Yes. We accept most PPO plans, auto/PIP insurance for accident injuries, and FSA/HSA funds, plus patient financing and direct-pay options if you’re uninsured. Call (954) 645-7272 and we’ll verify your benefits before your first visit.
